Besan Chutney Recipe - Kadalai Mavu Chutney Recipe


This is a really quick sidedish for dosa or idli. You can make this in few mins and this will be a change from your usual onion, tomato and coconut chutneys. I loved this recipe so much, i made it twice in a row. I have another version of this recipe which i call my instant sambar or thideer sambar, will share it soon.

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 10 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Oil - 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
Onion - 1 medium size chopped
Tomato - 1 medium size chopped
Green Chilli - 2 chopped
Salt to taste
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan - 3 tblspn
Water as needed
Sugar - 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice to taste
Coriander Leaves a handful chopped

Method:

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal and let them sizzle.

Add in curry leaves and let them sizzle.

Add in onions, chilli and tomatoes. Cook that for couple of mins.

Now add in turmeric and salt and mix well.

Add in gram flour and toast for 2 mins on a low heat.

Now add in water and mix well. Bring this to a boil and simmer for few more mins.

Now add in salt, sugar, lemon juice and coriander leaves.

Serve this with idli or dosa.

now the raw smell is gone

add water

mix well so no lumps are formed

bring it to a boil

simmer for few more mins

add in little sugar

some lemon juice

and some coriander leaves

mix well
